The practice was established in 1990 with an emphasis on historical
restoration and custom home design. Over time, the firm broadened
its services to include several successful projects in the commercial,
institutional and industrial fields. The full service staff now
includes licensed civil, structural, mechanical and electrical
engineers.
The staff has taken on a “hand-in-glove” approach
to construction and has taken measures to assure that designs
are detailed appropriately to be as concise as possible yet flexible
enough to respond to changing field conditions. We have learned
a lot from builders and have great empathy for the critical work
they do.
The firm is comprised of three licensed architects, three graduate
architectural designers, two drafting/designers, and a licensed
professional engineer performing civil and structural engineering,
a mechanical engineer, and an electrical engineer. Key members
of the staff have extensive experience in historical renovation
and design and are active members in the historical trust. The
firm has been recognized for outstanding design with awards
from the city of Warren, Royal Oak, Garden City and Detroit. Kevin Hart and Associates has received seven awards in the Detroit Home Magazine Design Awards Competition since October 2005, including first place in the new model home category in February of 2008.
Situated in downtown Birmingham, Michigan just north of Detroit,
the practice has branched out to projects throughout the region.
Architectural registration includes the states of Michigan, New York, Ohio, South Carolina, Georgia and the National Council of Architectural Registration Board.
